If you are considering purchasing a handcrafted rod, it is important that you know about the craftsman who will create your rod. Highliner Custom Rods is a one-person shop. I have over 35 years of experience building custom rods and what started as a hobby has now become a business. I take pride in building each of my rods to the specifics and desires of my angler customers. I consider it an honor to put my rods in the hands of anglers who appreciate performance equipment which is truly one-of-a-kind.
As an avid fisherman myself, I understand the performance demands of quality equipment. I know how to build a rod that will balance in your hand, be pleasing to the eye and when the time comes, can be counted on to be a quality piece of equipment which can help you land the fish of a lifetime.
I have lived in the Northwest for over 20 years and am specifically familiar with our many varied fisheries and techniques as they apply to rod design. When not building rods, I am out fishing the many rivers and lakes near my home. In addition to trout, salmon and steel head fishing, I also have a love of salt water fishing. In earlier years I fished big game fish off the Southern California coast and am a past member of the Avalon Tuna Club and Balboa Angling Club. During the years of fishing light tackle catch and release marlin tournaments, I was honored to fish with some of the most talented and skilled light tackle anglers on the west coast and gained an appreciation of the value of quality equipment.
My passion lies in creating works of performance art which simply can not be purchased from a manufacturer or mass producer. I take pride in creating unique, one-of-a-kind handcrafted rods designed with both function and form in mind. I enjoy my customers and learning of the experiences they have had with their Highliner Rods.
Thank you for your interest. I look forward to the possibility of working with you.
